Lipe Brothers Installs Magnum Helicals in Dead of Minnesota Winter - Ahead of Schedule!

Minnesota-based Magnum installer, Lipe Brothers Construction (www.lipebrothers.com) completed an interesting boardwalk project earlier this year - in the dead of the Minnesota winter.  

Lipe's installation team installed 366 twelve foot lead sections with triple blades and 548 six foot extension sections to an average depth of 18 feet.  The installation process included the use of Lipe's proprietary sub-surface frost remediation system to allow the helical blades to get a bite into the frozen soil.

"Due to the wet and swampy soil conditions at the environmentally sensitive site, the project had to be done in the winter with the ground frozen," said Lipe manager Dave Sundberg.  "The Magnum helical piles worked extremely well once we were able to get a bite into the frost laden soil.  We used our proprietary frost remediation system when it was needed, and the project was completed ahead of schedule."
