What is a Push Pier?
What is a Push Pier?
A push pier is a type of foundation pier that is used to prevent or correct foundation problems. They are generally used for residential and commercial buildings. Think of it as putting a building on stilts. But most of the time, the stilts are covered by soil. Steel push piers get down into the bedrock and create a solid foundation for your structure.
Description
The MAGNUM® Steel Push Piering System™ consists of steel tubing, a hydraulic system, and steel brackets. This low-profile system drives the steel push pier into the ground next to the structure with the help of a hydraulic system and then locks the steel pier into place with one of two types of steel brackets, providing a solid foundation in locations with poor soil quality. Magnum Steel Push Piers have two different weight options to make sure the correct pier is used on each structure, as well as two different bracket options to make sure everything is secured properly.
Function
As mentioned above, a steel foundation pier acts a bit like stilts. This allows development to occur in areas that may have less than ideal ground conditions and will help prevent damage from flooding or other natural disasters. The greatest benefits of this system is its ability hold high weights, reach great bedrock depths, and be installed quickly. The piering and brackets stay in place long after the hydraulic installation and have extremely low failure rates making them a reliable option for any structure.
