What are Foundation Anchors?
What are Foundation Anchors?
With a veritable mountain of options when it comes to foundation anchors for repairs, it can be hard to know what you’re being offered by foundation repair companies. For both the Magnum® Steel Push Piering System™ and the Magnum® Helical Pier System™, the foundation repairs are finalized with foundation anchors. A foundation anchor attaches the push pier or helical pier to the failing foundation of a structure to hold the pier in place as an extension of the foundation.
Description
There are many different types of foundation anchors that are utilized by both MAGNUM® Piering and other foundation repair specialists. We utilize two different foundation anchors for steel push piering: plate brackets and angle brackets. The brackets are chosen based on the
particular structure and are permanently adhered to the surface. Helical piles use steel caps that behave similarly to anchors but come in even greater variety for the project.
Function
Anchors are like the icing on the cake. They’re essential for making sure that the piers are mounted to the existing failing foundation in order to provide better support and stability. They are bolted into place permanently. Caps are a little more functional. Helical piers serve a greater variety of structures, creating further stability. Because they can be angled, they’re great for basements, retaining walls, and outdoor stairways. The caps are what hold the structure in place. The variety available is to provide the right cap for the wide variety structural fixes.
