Kanawha Public Library

The Kanawha Public Library project was originally designed with 93 16” diameter auger cast piles. They would be set to a depth of roughly 50’ . Paramount reached out to Tempo to provide a VE Alternate utilizing helical piles. Mag Geo was able to redesign the library using 159 3” helical piles under the columns as well as the elevator shaft. This was able to greatly reduce the cost of the project. Insatlling piles eliminated the spoils produced by auger cast and increased installation time. The amount of concrete needed for the project was also reduced.
